The Orkot bushes can be quite challenging to remove esp in the chassis.
Should they be greased, oiled, lithium greased etc before insertion so there are less expletives in about 10 years time.

(How do you get it out? Looking replace with nylon bushings...)

Mrs had me flat chat in the garden today, so more like a blur than like a stationary garden gnome.

Using a homemade press. The chassis one isn't worn as much as the spring eye bush.

Hi All,
I have done mine and helped with 3 others and its a lottery as to which one is easy or hard to remove.
Most of mine were easy just a few taps and out and Vinces were a bit harder but the third I spent hours with a gimpie and drift to move it about 10 mm in the end I used my recipro saw with a steel blade and cut 2 slots then a good quality screwdriver with a shaft all the way through the handle ( so I could use a hammer on it ) and removed the cut piece, the rest just fell out. you have to be carefull not to cut the chassis mount. The rest on that same oka were just as hard and I used the same method.
The 4th oka was so easy they just fell out.
The new bushes were neoprene with 22 mm pins but if I was using Orkot would greese help I dont know, if it is such a tight fit would the greese be pushed out ..maybe ..and if any left would it still be there in 10 years or would it be dried up or would it allow the sleeve to rotate and then cause wear on the chassis mount.

Hi Peter,
I would think with that ? mark your are asking is it the same tool as a recipro saw, I am sure if I got it wrong you will let me know.
A recipro saw short for reciprocating saw is the same as a sabre or sawzall and a few other names that different manufacturers call them.
The sleeve is not a full piece it has a split so if in the right position it really only needs 1 cut but you have to pay attention that it is an even cut or else you could cut through the chassis mount.
I do know of someone who used a hack saw to cut.

None of mine were tight even after 22 years but then 374 has only just clocked up 188k most under my ownership so well greased!
The replacement brass bushes were easily fitted using an enerpac and a jig to pull them in.

Some of my bushes were easy to get out ,others were frozen solid. the stuck ones I just ran a bead of weld around the inside and they just fell out

5/8" threaded rod, nuts, and washers... along with a rattle gun also works.

Yes the 5/8 or 16mm works unlike the 1/2" which stretched.
