John and Lis created the topic: 16" split rims and tyres
I have 10 of the original Oka 16"split rims and a couple of Michelin 255/100/R16 tyres. One has good tread, second one has a few thousand Kms left in it. Not retreads. These rims are the 8 bolt, 6.5"P.C.D. and will fit older Fords, Dodge and International trucks.
About half the rims have been blasted and painted and are in good condition.
I am tired of them taking up scarce shed space since I converted the truck to the 325/85 R16 tyres a couple of years ago.
Any offers? Phone me on 0419756805, or email on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Rims and tyres are located in Cairns.

Hi,
My Oka 187 is fitted with Bridgestone V steel 225/70 14 ply regroovable on 19.5 inch rims, which don't comply with the placard anyway. They would be 50% used. I am looking at changing to Michelin 255/100 on the 16" split rims or similar 900x16. So your superfluous to requirements interest me.. I have only one spare, which is a different tyre. I live near Katherine, NT.

Nobby
the reason everyone are going away from 16" split rims are availability & cost of tyres.

19.5 rims 305 75x19.5 mud & snow are popular, Kumo do them for around $450
they are slightly taller than 255/100r16
285/75 are similar hight

another option is315/75R16 on tubeless rims

OKAs 091, 093, 094, 113, 346x6 & 405

Here are some tyre diameters: (may vary less than 5mm according to tread pattern and make). Not all sizes are readily available.

16 inch wheels

Original 8.25-16 tube type 855mm
Substitute 225X100-16 Tubeless 856mm

255X100-16 (9.00X16 substitute) 916mm
285X75-16 834mm
305X75-16 863mm
315X75-16 878mm
325X75-16 893mm

19.5 inch wheels:

255X100-19.5 1005mm
285X75-19.5 923mm
305X75-19.5 953mm

Currently on Ebay there is a company in Sydney selling Khumo 305X70-16 (833mm tall) for $270. These have a good load rating of 124 (1,600kg) and Speed Q (160kph)

Hi John,

Bit late to ring you now unless you are nocturnal.. But I will, hopefully tomorrow. one if my work vehicles is Oka 430, which is now on 8.25x16 Michelin Agilus. They are great.. it has 4 spare 16" rims fitted with Bridgestones but they all have separations.. I would be looking to find a new home for my current 19.5 rims and tyres..
Will talk soon,
Cheers,
Denis.
