I have removed the a/c box from the rear of the drivers cab (1992 XT). Sticker says it was last serviced in 2013 though I have never used it. Free. I'm in Mundaring WA.

I modified mine when I got rid of the crew cab by leaving it in place, turning the fan so it blew downwards and relocated the duct to the wall retaining the two eyeball fittings.. The dash unit is useless, but the addition of the crew cab modules makes it really effective

I did similar Tony. I spun mine around to face forwards and made a 'tunnel' along the cab roof with vents in it facing the driver and passenger. Because the dash one was useless and i was re-routing pipes during that rebuild anyway, i just removed it...

The dash fan is good for making a lot of noise.
Quietening down the fan would seem worthwhile... or making it blow like it sounds.
