Martyn, the plastic blocks do tend to crack where the tightening screws are. I wrapped a length of thin rubber around the sun visor spigots before inserting them in the mounting bocks. This extra friction keeps them up.

Parts to adapt Nissan T/C to Spicer 5speed - complete kit - with a couple of minor exceptions - read on
I have removed the Nissan T/C from 266 and is for sale to someone wanting to do a conversion.
I had some problems with the coupler shaft last year due to the last owner having it incorrectly fitted. I had new 2 new shafts made and addressed all issues and the setup is reliable. We have done about 10k km since I installed it with no issues and an inspection of parts revealed no wear.
Kit includes all parts necessary to fit a Nissan T/C to an LT including:
coupler shaft
adapter plate
all nuts and bolts,
torque rods
front and rear tailshafts, front tailshaft spline is a bit worn
A Nissan T/C out of a GQ Nissan with standard gears
A Nissan T/C out of a GQ Nissan with 2.8:1 reduction gears, stripped to salvage the gears but I never got around to fitting them - good order
spare uni joints
spare new coupler shaft
See all the ugly details with the transfer case issues here
and a document with details of the conversion is attached
Parts not included:
Nissan Handbrake - I am using it with the NP205 setup
Gearbox rubber mounts - used retro fitting the standard bell housing mounts
upper lugs on engine plate that the torque rods bolt to. this is item 'A' in the first image of the attached doc.
Price ex Wauchope NSW - $1500. Warning - the owner is not emotionally equipped to haggle.

Just curious, why did you remove the Nissan T/C? I thought they were considered to be the bees knees.
Cheers, Paul

Paul
There was nothing wrong with the Nissan T/C, it was more of a confidence thing. Lingering doubts preventing me from going off-road towing in remote areas.
We are grossing 7 tonne towing an off road van (Kimberley Karavan) and whilst I think the Nissan is good for a 5.5 tonne Oka I think that it is beyond its designed capability towing off road.
I fitted an NP205 because it is probably a stronger box.
