From David Ribbans:

Has anyone actually removed an injector pump and successfully replaced it?
I have a leak from the rear distributor head O-ring. This site ( crustycrank.com/resealinjpump.htm#injpump ) shows how to fix it but the pump needs removing and replacing without upsetting the timing.
Any sage advice before I start (apart from "get an expert to do it")?

Yes I have. You need to set the engine at injection no 1, that is just before Top Dead Center compression stroke no 1 cylinder. Check to see if the pump housing has a mark on it where it mates up with the gear case, there should be a mark on both the pump and the gear case, if there is not put one there so that when you bolt the pump back on it sits in the same position.
Remove the lines etc, remove the cover on the front of the cover, behind this is the pump drive shaft which is held to the gear with a nut. Remove the nut, remove the two nuts holding the pump to the gear case. Use a puller to get the gear off the tapered shaft and pull the pump out the back of the gear case. A key drives the pump and the gear can not fall out of timing.
