Yes, electric lockup, had to go power divider to make it idiot proof.

Hi Brett, i remember you seeing an engineer and because it wasn't load sharing rear suspension you couldn't get the increase in GVM you wanted but what did you get with the 6x6? Do you remember what the engineer said was possible with load sharing rear bogie setup?

Also, is that a full length single cab tray you've put behind the dualcab on 346? What's the overall length of the vehicle once made 6x6? Good on you for building this concept, must have been a hell of a lot of work and head scratching in it! ;)

Cheers, alister

Be interested to hear how the Oka 6x6 is going it looks like a good setup.

Going to be able to lock the rear drive together like a conventional power divider, Brett?

Yes, electric lockup, had to go power divider to make it idiot proof.

Can I get some information on what "Power Divider" you used and is it working out well.

Thanks Dan.

The OKA suspension works too good to mess with it;
Load share gives a few extra KG but creates more break points.
load share for 8 wheel steer axles.

if I have to do load share, I will connect 4 air bags together.

It will carry more weight, but share the load is the objective on a
perfectly good suspension set up.

AIR bag loadshare is the go
because the OKA is A light trucu & diff's arnt heavy duty, minus weight of extra bits the weight increase is aprox 2 ton.

Aim of exersize is to share load over 3 axels instead of overloading 3 axel's

Alister I put 1400mm on chassi but could go to 1600mm + 200 overhang on tray. (approach/depart angle )

OUTYONDA
Thanks for the reply.
Instead of a lock and unlock for a power divider a thought may be given to a Viscous Drive Coupling. This would give drive but not Positive drive as it has some give/slip in the transmission of power through it.

Prehistoric Works better most times with less brake downs.

Old post but just came across it, are the cabs designed to flip or have you built a jig to do so? (after a heap is removed obviously) I have a Duramax and Allison I want to install next year and that makes a difference. cheers
