It's all bad news on the drag-racing-in-OKAs front, I'm sorry to say. We finally got a fine Wednesday night coupled with reasonable health, the OKA was ready to go, I had all the gear and I fronted up at the required time. But I didn't get any further than the queue for safety scrutineering. A fella with a clipboard came over and said, "I think you're going to be too tall".

Que? What difference could the height of the vehicle possibly make, I wondered (not out loud). Not the vehicle. He elaborated: there's a rule somewhere that says the centreline of the crankshaft can't be more than 600mm off the ground - thinking safety and stability at speed. He even had a tape measure. It was a bit of a giveaway that he barely had to bend down to measure it - 750mm. Sorry sir, but there's no way you can race this vehicle as it is.

And realistically, I'm not about to change it so that I can. So you won't see #260 on a drag strip, I expect. A disappointing result, tonight.

It looks like my only prospect of getting genuine times is to use my mate's PerformanceBox and a long length of safe private road. I don't know when that will be.

The I must be mad post, there is a pic of tyres.
the rims & tyres on the left are ex ambo

measured against 19.5, 140mm difference
put them on front, half flat & 19.5 305 on rear or 16 x 325 should get under 600mm

or low profile tyres on those skinny rims!!

OKAs 091, 093, 094, 113, 346x6 & 405

Oh mate, I feel so sorry for all your effort. Im sure a regional 1/8th mile venue will not be a problem, if you can be bothered. Its an easy, accurate calculation from 1/8th to 1/4 & a lot less chance of the sun-visor (nice segue way back on topic huh) peeling the roof off 260 at the finish line too.
