Hi Greg I have the Rockwell which has 2 cables and while stationary it is difficult to engage or disengage the vehicle has to be moving other than that it may be cable adjustment.

Greg the shift shafts and pivots where the cables attach can get gunked up with dirt and crud which can make them very stiff, try degreasing the area and hosing it all off and you may find it fixes it.

I have similar problems with my LT. When I spoke to Al about this he said that LT need to be slightly moving to change over.... But not sure if that is the case

Greg, getting out of low range is a common problem with some heavy boxes, best to try to reverse a little while trying to disengage,as Peter said the cables may be dry and covered in crude but Rockwell's are better at changing on the move (not at speed)
Cheers,Joe

Greg I have just looked up the instructions for the rockwell.
engine rpm to be less than 1200 and vehicle to be moving at no more than a walking pace.
