As I heard the story they got rid of them when the speed of the NBN was promised was in conflict with the speed of OKA.
And the NBN maybe also breaks down more than OKA?

Don't know how true the story is thou.

Oka 413 started life as a multi-cab 'service vehicle' for Telstra's auto plant section working out of Perth's Balcatta depot in the 1990's. It was originally fitted with a reinforced sub-frame under the short rear tray to take the load of a small Hiab crane. Its role was to provide field service for Telstras plant in rural and remote locations. Telstra 'out sourced' this capability in the early 2000's and #413 was sold off to AIRA (Australian Industrial Rope Access), an abseiling/rigging maintenance company shortly after. It was used as a portable store room and off road access vehicle for transmission line tower maintenance for the next several years,

When we bought it in 2009 the painted over Telstra logo was still visible on the 'bonnet'.
