Have a Canter owner friend trying to decide on which 305/70R19.5" tyres.
Michelin (my choice) are out of stock for 12 weeks.
Anyone with experience with Kumho KRD02 or Hankook DH35?
Cheers,
Peter

Peter I think Rob alley has been running the Hankooks on his bus with success.
I ran two sets of 315/75R16 Hankook Dynapro ATm's and never had any problems, had to go to Maxxis Razr as Hankook stopped importing/making the 315's another.

Thanks Rick. Bridgestone seem to be a first or second choice after (or before) Michelin.

I bought a set of 7 1/2" rims some time ago that had 305s fitted. Did not seem to be any issues

Who knows what is better/best.
I used Kumho's for the first time on the Oka some 6 to 7 yrs ago after doing some research and advice from the shop where I got them and he could have sold me anything.
I have done some 30 to 40,000 Klm's on bitumen and very rough off road and I mean rough and very demanding on tyres where the other vehicles had tyres cut badly mine came out almost undamaged.
When my Land cruiser needed new tyres I had no hesitation in getting Kumho's.
Some time later my Canter needed tyres and guess what I got... Kumho's.
I normally run at 60 to 80 psi on bitumen and off road let them down to 30 psi.
Would I use them again ... you bet.

This Tyre Pressure Calculator I have been using for years and takes the guess work out of setting my Tyre Pressures, I have used this chart with both with my 305x70r19.5s and 37x12.5r17s
Just add your Tyre Details and Axle Weights in the Yellow Boxes

I purchased 5 Hankook 305-70 R19.5 DH07 tyres in 2017. Ive driven about 32,000 km of probably 50/50 bitumen/dirt with 3 rotations in that time. I did a rough measurement of the tread depth towards the centre, new it was 18mm, now its between 14mm & 15mm (halfway through their life I replaced the complete king pins & bearings on the steerers so this scrubbed a bit of life from them but rotating squared them back up)
I generally run 65psi at 5600kg. Doing the CSR fully loaded at 28psi without an issue.
I'm happy with them but I dont go near mud so I have nothing on that.
I run a bag of beads in each tyre for balancing.
No flats. (until now I bet)

All 305-70 R19.5 drive tyres have a similar tread pattern.
I find that in fine mud (like that around any of the rivers of the Murray Darling Basin in the wet) the M729 Bridgestone Drive pattern fills up so they turn into drag slicks. Tyre pressures have to be dropped to 15psi or the OKA becomes un-steerable.
