Hi David, James and Hal, just a follow up from the photo I inserted on the tyre pressures thread. From your comment it appears you were aware of a problem. I took the photo and attached the file from my iPad, the photo was the correct way up. For the third attempt I took the photo upside down and it came out the right way up on the thread, is this how the system works or did I do it wrong.
Thanks guys you are doing a great job.

Ewart, yes I saw the image was inverted so I fixed it.
The upload process worked OK because your photo appeared. However I don't know why it came out inverted. Does your iPad automatically rotate photos it takes maybe? I don't think our forum program does anything like that.
Unfortunately I deleted your original post so I can't examine the photos details.
Most cameras record the orientation of photos in their exif file so applications can make use of that.
Not to worry though, it's a simple thing to fix so keep on forum-ing.

Thank for that David, I think you had fixed it before I posted the second time.
I took the photo the right way up and saved it to the iPad and then attached the file, it came out upside down, the second time I used the take photo option and it came out upside down, the third time I turned the iPad upside down and used the take photo option and it came out the right way up, mmmmmh.

I think it's an Apple thing - I strike it occasionally when I 'correct' the orientation of a photo on the PC to edit it, and then post it to the net and it comes out sideways - have to go back and save it sideways on the PC and then re-load it to the net to have it appear correct!
But more commonly the problem occurs when you take a photo pointing straight down at a sheet of paper, as has happened here. The 'camera' doesn't know which way is up. If you lean the sheet up against something to take the photo upright, no problem.
If you have a closer look at Peter Wright's pic underneath, you'll see the same has happened there.

Or it could just be a weird iPad thing Ewart! Some more photo editing done of your posts (on a PC).
