I give up. Not one of the large container full of allan keys, nor any of the unbrako inch and metric sets fits the six socket-head screws holding the cap on the free-wheeling hub.
What size is it?

Tony if they are stuck, try hammering in a Torx driver bit of about the same dimensions. It will cut it's own path and grip well.

Got the old ones out using a torx bit, but about to fit the new 35 spline hubs so thought I should do the right thing and use the correct allen key.
Pulling the old bits apart - one of the fixing screws head sheared off - but think that happened a long time ago and was judst dirt holding it in. All the other screws came out without any problems. Had a look at the UJ bearings and found one roller broken in half. Guess that wouldn't matter too much since the two bits have no choice but to stay together.
3/16 is the screw size (diameter)???? or the AF measurement of the allen key needed.???? These are warn hubs - and I just checked them again - a 5/32 allen key is too big and 1/8 too small. The ones in the original hubs are the same size, whatever that is. Surely not a 9/64
in metric a 3mm is too small and a 4mm too big

Tony I found a US site which said 7/64ths Allen key, but info is thin on the ground. That's 2.77mm whatever that means.
Another site says 9/64ths (3.57mm) which sounds like what you've got.

You are better at searching than Iam because I could find that despite a fair bit of trying.
Measured it with vernier and seemed to be about 3.5 mm so that would be it. Pretty skinny screw - #8 is the standard screw for a 9/64 hex socket.
Bother. Now I have to find somewhere that sells individual keys - or a cheap set that has the right one in it.
You would think that if they can provide allen keys for a $30 TV bracket, that I bought recently they could do the same for a pair of hubs costing a lot more.

Obviously different size screws depending on the brand of the hubs. Mine are Warn - both the original ones and the new ones that came with the axle upgrade.

Just tried the 9/64" Allen key that Betty bought today and it fits the screws perfectly - both the old hub screws and the new hub screws. Guess the screws themselves are 3/16 diameter. Haven't bothered to measurre that part - just the socket recess.
Can't find my verniers but screws look like 5/32 OD of the thread. Perhaps there has been a recent upgrade??

OKA in Africa replied the topic: What size hex in the hub screws
I am currently in the US and try to get a couple of the screws for the hub caps since one of mine broke. Anybody knows the model or part number of the Warn hub so I can track down the right bolts?
Thank you and best regards

We've just come back from the US, I bought new hubs complete from a 4wd place that Tony Lee gave me the name of. I can look it up on the laptop if you need it.
The bolts for the Warn hubs are a Warn only item 3/16 AF thread with a 9 /64th's Allen key head. Typically called a set screw here in Oz.
The other big autoparts store is called NAPA.
Looking in the LT parts manual the only hubs shown are p/n DanO6OHW101 for the complete assembly, the Dana bolt is p/n 18.007.
I had a look at the Warn hub site and as you say unless you know what axle we have you cannot get the part numbers.
The standard Oka setup is Dana 6o with 32 spline outer stubs.
I'll go up to the shed and have a look to see if there are any part numbers on the hubs.

OIA, if your hubs are Warn Premuim hubs like this, Dana 60, front axle, internal mounting, 30 spline (assuming you don't have a 35 spline upgrade):
It's a Warn P/N 38826 premium hub and the full service kit for these is Warn P/N 11714 or just the set of 6 screws P/N 35150 (also fits their 35 spline version anyway). You can look up both part numbers on the Oreilly's website .
Looks like Peter below has confirmed these part numbers (parallel processing Peter).
They should fit the following models (from the 4wdfactory website )
Compatible with the following models:
76-87 - Chevrolet/GMC 1-Ton Pickup, Note: H
88-90 - 1-Ton V-Series Pickup, Note: H
90-93 - Dodge 3/4 and 1-Ton Pickup
78-97 - Ford 3/4 and 1-Ton Pickup, Note: H
99-04 - Ford Super Duty (Dana 50 and 60) Note: K
35 spline fits custom applications for Dana 60 (See 35 spline Upgrades) and some special Dana 70 applications
Notes:
K: Will Not Fit Dual Wheel Application
H: When Replacing Automatic 3 Hole Cap Screw Hubs, You must change the spindle nuts. (4 slot style or Stage

I measured the bolts in the original Warn hubs, they are 1 1/2" long (under the head to end of thread), 1/8" dia (1/8 UNF thread) head outer dia is 1/4" with a 9/64" Allen key.
I bought back from the US a 35 spline upgrade kit which includes a set of Premium Warn hubs for 1 ton 35 spline p/n 62672 which have exactly the same bolts so you can get bolts to suit that p/n which will fit the standard Warn hubs.
Cross referencing the p/n's on the Warn website you can either buy a fastener kit 35150 which seems to just have the bolts you require or a hub service kit 11714 which will have them as well as other wear parts.
