Smallest one readily available is I think, meant for a 2 1/2" exhaust pipe - and they don't need much length to fit them in. Most are driven by an air actuator.

Might be a squeeze fitting it in though - and given the lack of any serious mountain grades in Australia, it might be more cost effective to stay in as low a gear as is necessary on the few occasions the going gets steep.

I met a couple with an OKA 5th wheeler, not in the club. They went to Tassie and wore out a set of brakes in no time so he fitted an exhaust brake and he said it is great. He told me it was off a UD Nissan with a 3 inch exhaust.

374 has one fitted by the RAAF as the factory knows nothing about it.
It is air operated and is mounted in the exhaust pipe at the point where it levels out right next to the rear spring hanger on the RHF spring.
It has interlock switches on the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals as well as a switch on the dash.
It doesn't work due to the little ARB compressor fitted as part of the installation not working.
The actual butterfly in the exhaust pipe works ok though.
I've heard mixed ideas about an exhaust brake on the Perkins, one titbit I was told was that the Perkins has weak exhaust valve springs and the back pressure could keep the valves open and damage the piston and valves.
I've not been able to confirm or deny the runour so have been reluctant to repair it use it in case it causes a problem.

Just be aware that not every engine exhaust manifold gasket will cope with the exhaust gases back pressure and monitor exhaust gas temperature, over use can cook turboes
