Just letting others know. I found a new noise. Turbo gauge rattle. Apparently quite common. Easily fixed by inserting a little plastic restrictor into the tube end at the back of the gauge. A VDO store gave to me for free.

I knew there had to be a reason for not having a turbo guage - but I do have something similar in that the squareD pattern water pressure gauges sometimes rattle for part of the pumping cycle because of the fluctuations caused by the diaphragm pump. Also easily fixed by the same method - when I get around to it.
