Has anyone fitted Stratos Suspension Seats in a OKA?
My concern is the suspension framework at the rear of the seat will not give me room to push the seat back far enough.
Any thoughts on front seat replacements? With many OKA Seats out there nearing the end of their life span what are some options with out breaking the bank again

David,
Tim Forsyth fitted Stratos seats (see here). Don't know if this will answer your space question though but might help with the base fitting.

I get left wondering about the merit of a suspension seat like that; it doesn't appear to use an integral seat belt, so you're back to the standard inertia reel belts. Would not the inertia reel, doing its job, take up a bit of slack each time the seat compressed down, and then not release it while it had rebound pressure on?... effectively clamping you further and further down under more pressure as you went over a succession of bumps? I could have that altogether wrong, but I have always thought an automotive suspension seat needed an integrated seat belt, especially for dirt road use.
I went with Recaro Ergomed ES seats with the climate package. They're electric everything except the fore and aft slide, and the heating is glorious on a cold night. Very nice. Not so good on the 'without breaking the bank' side of things though - we'd had a good summer the year I bought them.

David, We have Recaro's in our LT. They aren't electric and they are quite comfortable and I am just under 6 foot tall. They were in the truck when we purchased it about 6 years ago.

Fabulous fit for the LT's, has anyone upgraded seats on a XT?. The XT has a wider engine hatch, would love to fit new seats.

Many thanks all, I actually have Recaro Seats in my OKA and fit well in the XT. David Fewster with 029 has the option to pick up some Stratos Seats second hand at the right price, and asked for me to start off this topic to see if they would fit in prior to purchase. I have found the Recaros to be fantastic for me, the support is fantastic on and off road.

Been looking at the stratos seats too. James if you have any detail pics would be great as I'm trying to work out if they will fit ok. The cost is not what you'd call cheap so I'd like to know they at least fit. What's the ride like?

Sure I'll post a few pics in the next couple of days. I've been flat out with work the past few days so haven't had a chance to get on to it. I'll see what I can do tomorrow evening WA time.

Finally got my act together. Because I have taken quite a few I thought it better to link to them rather than post them here. You can find them at the bottom of this album. If anyone wants anything specific let me know and I'll take a photo of that for you. Tim did a great write up when he did the installation which can be found here.
