No plans yet
All previous camps were good Pete, Shipwreck, Mayfords, Nymboida, Paddy's Flat, Geehi?
Lots to choose.
Any good camp on the banks of one of the Murray Darling Rivers?
Or lots more local High Country choices on the Snowy, Aberfeldy, Howqua?
or maybe more central ...3 nice easy free camps near Tumbarumba, Mannus Lake, Paddy's River.
Lets go.

Go to any of the recently opened pubs and you will find this is perfectly correct.

Shipwreck, Mayfords, Nymboida, Paddy's Flat, Geehi?
Some of these might have been burnt out I imagine. Some will be busier than normal due to international travel restrictions. From my point of view somewhere near vic/nsw or vic/sa borders ok depending on shifts at work. Will need some time to get annual leave.
26th Jan is a Tuesday.

Just a thought... Wompinni Station is on all three borders - NSW, Vic and SA. Right on the banks of the Murray River, great facilities with powered sites, good ablutions blocks etc, but still a very, very 'rural outback' environment. Very inexpensive, and the proprietor is 'Oka Friendly' having for many years driven Okas as a tour guide. Scenically stunning, with history all over the place.

Wompinni sounds interesting. What sort of fee?
Heaps of good free camps with plenty of room along the Murray.

Sounds like as good as anywhere else. Could be pretty hot, so powered site might be good for aircon.
When do people think they would be there? Do we need to book..

Last year the meet was set a bit later than Australia Day to beat the traffic and the crowds. That worked well, and a bit less heat, and probably less need to book. Anytime suits us.

It seems they charge $10 a head per day, including firewood, fire pits, excellent ablutions blocks, good camp kitchen with deck on the rivers edge. They are 'pet friendly' and have lots of dogs and horses to entertain visitors.

Just to be sure of full disclosure - we have stayed with them twice here, and before at their property in Victoria, and have become friends.

Cheers all,
Paul

Thanks everyone for the enthusiasm. We should try to choose a date, and book if we are all agreed on the venue. It worked really well this year, being a little later than Aust Day. We are free at any time, so would anyone like to suggest dates that do or don't suit them? As Harry suggested, the 18th of March could be starting date for anyone to say yes or no.
Cheers, Paul
