Hi all. We are planning to go to Flinders Ranges for about 10 days in winter. We have previously stayed at Rawnsley, and we prefer quiet nature-based stuff, so not Wilpena! Can be powered or unpowered. Hope to do lots of walks, mountai bike riding and some 4WDing, using the same site as a base for the whole time.
What do people recommend?
Thanks!
Mat

In the National Park, we often go to site 10 in Brachina East camp area.

Drive down the Bunyeroo Valley Road, turn left into the Gorge and the camp is north of the road, over the creek.
Beautiful drive....

If you need free, then Parachilna Gorge.

Peter

I am actually thinking that the first pic I posted is in Parachilna Gorge.
Nice spot, but you need to be lucky and it is much busier.

5 nights at a time (per camp site) in Brachina, so might be useful for 1 night and then come back to Brachina for another 5 nights?

ps... I presume you are aware of the Mawson Trail which is a 900km trail for mountain bikes that goes through the Park.
