Dave Blythe created the topic: tools and spares list....anything missing in my list please
Getting 297ready for our next trip (Canning) and documenting tools/spares lists...this is what I normally carry and since She's only got 15,000 Klm post "new everything" I'm not intending to take the kitchen sink....but can anyone spot important stuff missing?

I carry an assortment of bolts, nuts, spring washers, flat washers, pop rivets & tool (they also come in handy for blocking brake lines if you happen to tear one out) Brake fluid, ATF (power steer/brakes as well as transmission).
The leads off your welder and the glass from a helmet which can be taped into a cutout in a cardbord box in an emergency..
I also carry cordless drill, angle grinder and a big impact plus a couple of pinion seals.
Don't forget a spare serpentine belt for the Cummins and Radiator hoses.
JB weld, Lokseal instead of teflon tape, gasket sealant.
The CSR is a long trip especially by yourself (you've not mentioned others) and can be hard on both vehicles and passengers, take your time and enjoy the country, we had afew days where we broke camp and only did 20k's before we found a great spot and decided to stop and camp, don't rush!! We've been out there twice first in 92 and second in mid 03.

We don't carry some of your list, but add a few others.
Without repeating too many already mentioned......
Silver solder
Tyre plugs, patches, & glue (small NEW tubes, they go off once opened)
Tyre levers (3)
Air compressor, hose, gauges, blower
Fuel cap, radiator cap.
Coolant
Fuel syphon or pump
Set of drill bits
Welder & rods
Solar regulator
Front wheel bearings
Vice grips
Pair brake pads and clamp for fitting

Top is a 200L drum cap that allows a little compressed air to be pumped in to pump the drum contents out of the drum.
Bottom part is an air to LPG connection that allows LPG to be used to inflate a tyre in an emergency.

Bead breaker.

We expect to be along the Canning N-S from about late July in company with a Canter.
Cheers,
Peter

ps... I also carry an ex Holden mechanical screw jack. Hydraulic jacks can not push sideways. Modified to allow the 1/2" drive tools to operate it.

Cheers, Peter.
