The Oka we saw leaving Broome 10 days ago was spotted again 2000km away in Darwin.

It's Oka 218, not a member, and belongs to Sacred Earth Safaris, but no one was around. Despite the signs on the side, it obviously hadn't been down the Gibb River Road, much too clean and undamaged.

(Sloping car park, not sagging springs!)

NT001.
Spotted in Germany today, stripped of the camper body in readiness for a new, lighter one.

That red thing behind with the window is actually a building :)

Cheers, Peter.

What is the tape on the side window for? And what is the extension on the bottom of the door?

Dont know about tape on window, might be for when they put it a container and fold mirrors in.

Extension on the bottom of the door is to cover over bull bar step.

This stops people climbing onto the OKA when travelling badlands.......

The window is broken.
Apparently you can't simply cut a new one like you can with a windscreen and the wrong type of glass was used.
As well as for security, the door is rusted.
Notice also the padlock provision at the bottom rear corner of the door.
The door locks can be breached with a screwdriver in a couple of seconds.

Cheers, Peter.

Good spotting.
That because they brought it from South America with a broken rear axle and drove in front wheel drive.
The rear tail shaft is missing too.

Cheers, Peter.

Brett, not sure if he is still up in Darwin. He was there last week, and when he told me on the weekend that he saw a vacated rusted OKA I asked him to make a photo. Obviously I was not precise enough and forgot to tell him about the VIN etc, although he knows as he has been considering buying one as well.
Will let you know if more information comes to hand.

I have a couple of photos from 2004 which shows the same Oka meeting up with Collyn Rivers in Broome.

Might jog some memories about the owners? Oka 155 is not on our database.
