By far the best looking rig at the Brookton Old Time Motor Show,
and it was given a spot right out the front, and close to the Toranas, excellent.
This was the first BOTMS we had been to and there was a huge diversity of cars trucks
military stationary and my fave vintage cars with vintage caravans - sweet.
We drove up on Friday night and as usual held up traffic, which didn't worry me at all
because I didn't have anything holding me up, like a pesky tractor.
Funny how folks tend to think they can just walk right into your truck, without knocking.
Still was nice to chat to punters who wanted one worked on them or even buyers at the right price.
The bonus for me was quality food and drinks on tap, and a little nana nap after lunch.
Rob from ? between Beverly and Brookton ? was confident he spotted us on the road on Friday night,
but the car trailer obscured the back of the truck - going real slow up hills was the giveaway.
He came Saturday and we had a nice chat.
Drive home late Saturday arvo and held the traffic up again. And well if you are stupid enough to stick that
close you thoroughly deserve a big puff of diesel smoke as I change down a gear or two.

This cargo plane is now in Perth and has caused traffic gridlock, security embarrassment and
huge media coverage. Now this is one huge cargo jet and now you can see that I had to resize the
OKA A LOT to look like it fitted. Think it fooled one peep. You could fit a fleet of OKAs in the cargo
hold....let's go to...hmmm....Africa...for a gathering
Hehehe

Driving through Katherine [NT] today, on my way to work which is driving an Oka, I spotted Oka 126, parked near Travel North, Greyhound {Red Dog] parking area. Has WA plates, "OKA126".. I took some pics of it, noting that it is also fitted with an intercooler for the Perkins, as well as a wench. Would like to have met the owners. It looked well cared for.
cheers,
Nobby.

Peter says he is thinking about selling his OKAs soon and down sizing his tour business. He is currently ratting the second one to keep #292 on the road (it has now done 700,000km and none of that is black top).
Cheers,
Peter

No 82 Somewhere few hours east of Ceduna...... Called them on the UHF Radio
James Byle today, near Cervantes some where. He didnt seem to have his UHF on. Unless he has sold his OKA. It had a load on the back.
Also popped in and seen Mr Wade in Coolgardie.
Currently in Geraldton and heading to Kalbarri tomorrow.
I am not in the OKA, so thats a bit of a shame....

Started as Dual Cab and I think you have had the engine rebuilt etc since.
I am now currently driving up the West Coast back to Darwin.
